This Week in School

We’ve had another fun-filled and action-packed week!

Mass was held this week, offering a peaceful moment for reflection and prayer in our school community.

Shared Education continued for our P1 and P2 pupils with sessions on both monday and Wednesday, helping to build friendships and learning across schools.

Skill School Dance Club brought energy and rhythm to the week, with pupils loving the chance to express themselves through movement. The fun continued at Skill School Club on Tuesday, giving pupils more opportunities to develop their PE and football skills.

Irish Club for P3 and P4 was filled with fun as pupils enjoyed exploring language and culture.

Gaelic and Fundamentals Club took place on Thursday, with sessions for P1–P2and P5–P7—a brilliant way to stay active and learn new skills.

Today we celebrated Red and White Day in support of our Senior Girlsahead of the National League Final on Sunday! Pupils were invited to wear their Derry colours—let’s get behind the team!

With the sun shining, our pupils made the most of the outdoors—den building, nail salons, musical instruments, and even reading outside! The children absolutely loved it.

Achievements and Awards

 Fast Phonics and Reading Eggs Certificates were awarded to our fantastic P1 and P2 pupils—well done to everyone making great progress!

AR Quiz Results for this term:

3rd Place: 13 quizzes at 100%

2nd Place: 14 quizzes at 100%

1st Place: 20 quizzes at 100% – amazing effort!

 Word Count Awards:

3rd Place reading 200,000 words

2nd Place reading 300,000 words

1st Place reading 502,000 words – outstanding reading!

AR Raffle Winners were also drawn this week for pupils achieving 100% on their quizzes.

Times Tables Awards:

Bronze, Silver, and Gold awards were presented—brilliant work!

Stars of the Week

This week’s stars were celebrated for showing fantastic independence and determination—well done to all!

A huge well done to our P4 and P6 girls who did brilliantly in their gymnastics competitions—you’ve made us all proud!

We want to send a big good luck to our Primary 6 pupil who is competing in the World Irish Dancing Championships—we’re all rooting for you!

And finally, 

A Special Birthday

We also celebrated the birthday of our much-loved canteen lady Marina this week! The children absolutely adore her. She was treated to cake, flowers, a lovely card, and Happy Birthday sung by the entire school. Thank you Marina, for everything you do for our school—you’re a star!
