Stars of the Week 04.04.2025
We had a great week of learning this week, full of fun and achievements!
Stars of the week - This week’s stars were chosen for showing the new school value of determination. A huge well done to each of them for their hard work and positive attitude.
A special shout out goes to our amazing p6 pupil who is excelling in swimming. She has completed all her levels in both regular lessons and academy training, and now is working on life-saving skills - an incredible achievement, especially as she is the youngest in her group by five years. What determination!
On Wednesday, we marked World Autism Awareness day, celebrating the importance of inclusion, understanding, and acceptance.
With the beautiful weather this week, our pupils have been making the most of the outdoors! Primary 1 and 2 had a fantastic time playing in the outdoor area, exploring musical instruments and getting creative with our new den-building equipment. It’s been wonderful to see the children enjoying the fresh air and working together in such imaginative ways!
Primary 1 and 2 enjoyed a lovely spring walk to the garden in Gortnaghey, spotting signs of the new season all around them. Our older pupils embraced the outdoors in a creative way this week, bringing their Religion work to life through outdoor learning during lunchtime. It was also lovely to see pupils mixing together, exploring nature, and appreciating the world around them. They were especially fascinated by the little insects they discovered, taking great care in observing them with curiosity and kindness.
On Thursday 3rd April, pupils took part in Adoration, a peaceful and reflective part of our school faith life.
Today our p5-p7 pupils took part in a Respect & relationship workshop led by Mrs Jackson. The session focused on kindness, courage and respect, helping pupils reflect on how they treat others and how to speak up with confidence when needed. Through engaging activities, they explored the power of words, standing up for others, and making positive pledges to bring home. A fantastic day of learning and reflection for all involved!
