Lorna Moore Memorial Camogie Blitz 2024

4th May 2024

Our girls had a great day at the Lorna Moore Memorial Camogie blitz. Thank you to all 7 schools who attended, you brought the sunshine to Drum.

After 7 rounds the top 4 teams were determined based on points. Leading to very exciting semi finals! St. John's Dernaflaw met St. Mary's Gortnaghey and St Matthew's Drumsurn met St Patrick's & St Joseph's. In the final St. John's Dernflaw played St. Patrick's & St Joseph's, in a highly contested match.

Congratulations to the girls and Mrs O'Neill from St. John's Dernflaw who won Lorna Moore Memorial Cup! Well done Molly, player of the tournament. All teams displayed great determination and skill throughout the competition!

Thank you to Katy, Molly and Calaeb for representing the Moore family and presenting medals and trophy to the top 2 teams.

Thanks to St. Colm's GAC, Drum for the use of their great pitch and facilities, to our staff, Josephine, Seamus and PTA who helped keep the refreshments flowing.

A special word of thanks to Shane McCartney for organising the fixtures and leading the games. To Shane and Nikita for refereeing two of the pitches and to staff from all the visiting schools who volunteered to referee on the 3rd pitch.

Thank you to St. Canices Feeny, Geal Scoil Neachtain, St. Columbia’ Ballerin, St. John’s Dernaflaw, St. Patrick’s & St. Joseph’s, St. Matthew’s Drumsurn for joining our St. Mary’s Gortnaghey girls for the day.
