Children’s Mental Health Week
This week, our school has been busy taking part in a range of important events to support learning and wellbeing.
We marked Children’s Mental Health Week, focusing on the importance of looking after our minds as well as our bodies. Pupils took part in activities to help them understand how to express their feelings, support one another, and build resilience.
For Safer Internet Day, we explored how to stay safe online with an assembly with Miss Doherty, to make sure our pupils understand how to use the internet responsibly and protect themselves in the digital world. The children also took part in classroom activities designed to deepen their understanding of online safety. KS2 took part in a Cyberpals information session with Fergual from the Dryarch, thank you so much.
We were also delighted to take part in an exciting Art and Design Factory session with Sinead, where pupils joined an interactive art class via Zoom. They had a brilliant time exploring their creativity and producing some fantastic artwork!
We welcomed Cancer Focus NI, who delivered their Smokebusters programme to help educate pupils about the dangers of smoking and the importance of making healthy choices. This was a valuable session as part of our awareness for World Cancer Day.
To celebrate National Storytelling Week, we had a fantastic pyjama day, where pupils enjoyed cosy storytelling sessions, highlighting the magic of books and the joy of reading. Thank you to everyone who attended our Snuggle and story time
After such a busy and rewarding term so far, we hope all our all our pupils enjoy a well deserved break next week for mid-term. Have a fantastic time off, and we look forward to welcoming everyone back, refreshed and ready for more learning!
